Viewers tuning into Saturday night's edition of The 1 Per Cent Club have been left baffled by a particular question which they say was "a lot harder" than the final 1 per cent question. The 30 per cent question asked contestants to name "whose mug belonged on the top shelf with the others".
It saw 20 people knocked out in the studio, and 18 people also had to use their 'pass' to see them through to the next round, as they too didn't know the answer. Taking to social media, fans were quick to share their frustration after the show.
One viewer said: "Got the one per cent question right for the first time ever! Though I'll be honest I'm sure the cup question was a lot harder #1percentclub."
A second said: "Feeling smart at getting the one per cent question on #1percentclub nearly right away, but wouldn't have made it to the end because the mug and flag questions stumped me..." And a third wrote:" How is that 1% question harder than the cup question?! #1percentclub."

The one per cent question, which could have seen winners share a prize pot of £100,000 - the first time ever on the show it had amounted to this much - asked contestants what connected the words 'haunt', 'mumble', 'sonic', and 'granite'. The answer to this question was that they all contained family members (aunt, mum, son, and gran). Three of the five finalists got the answer right, each winning £33,333.
And for those wondering what the correct answer to the mug question was - it was 'Alf'. The show explained: "If you include the handle as a C, the top row all spell new words - chat, clog, cold and crow. Of the bottom row of mugs, only Alf makes a new word when you include the C - calf.
Lee Mack, the show's host, recently announced he will be stepping back from his popular BBC show, Not Going Out. The comedian confirmed that he won't be producing the sitcom this year as he focuses on other projects, reports Birmingham Live.
Mack, who recently celebrated the 100th episode of Not Going Out over the festive period, discussed the future of the sitcom, in which he is both the star and writer. "I was doing a sketch show at the Fringe in Edinburgh with Catherine Tate and Dan Antopolski," said Lee, who also featured in the BBC series Freeze the Fear alongside Holly Willoughby last year.
He continued: "There was a thought I had that wasn't even a joke. Me looking out of a window with a telescope, my wife walks in and I suddenly look up to the stars. In other words, what the hell was I looking at? At best mildly amusing, not a sketch but an idea, so I parked it."
"Then I had another and another and the sketch grew into a quarter of the show and then became a pilot," he explained.
When asked about his plans for the year amid his ongoing projects like The 1% Club, which airs every Saturday night, he revealed: "More 1% Club, more Would I Lie to You? and, for the first year in a long time, I won't be doing Not Going Out. If we do bring it back, we're looking at early 2025."
