The A38 southbound in Devon was closed on Sunday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash. Reports of the collision came in at around 1:54pm this afternoon (April 7).

Traffic built up between the B3344 Chudleigh /Kingsteignton turn off and Marsh Lane, at Harcombe Cross. It is not yet clear whether anyone has been injured as a result.

Roads and traffic monitoring website, Inrix, says: "A38 Devon southbound closed, queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle accident between Marsh Lane (Harcombe Cross) and B3344 (Chudleigh / Kingsteignton Turn Off).

Inrix initially stated the incident had shut the northbound carriageway.

The southbound route was shut but has since reopened as of 3pm.

Devon and Cornwall Police has been contacted for more information.

Police were called at 1.45pm on Sunday 7 April following a collision involving two cars on the A38 westbound at Chudleigh.

One vehicle ended up on its roof.

Fire and ambulance also attended.

No serious injuries reported.

The A38 westbound was closed near Chudleigh.

One lane opened at 2.35pm and police left the scene with Highways around 3.15pm.

All lanes have reopened but traffic remains

Roads and traffic monitoring website, Inrix, says: "Queueing traffic and delays of 15 minutes due to earlier accident, multiple vehicles involved on A38 Southbound between Marsh Lane (Harcombe Cross) and B3344 (Chudleigh / Kingsteignton Turn Off). Note change of direction. All lanes have been re-opened."
